Hi John,
Do you have the debug mode enabled in the global config? You need to turn it off during the installation.
If the akeeba plugin is enabled and you open the extension installer. Right below the upload fields is a link: Open normal Joomla installer. When you click that link, does the installation work from that page?
Kind regards,
Pete

Hi! Thanks - here's what I did:
Debug mode off.
Akeeba Restore Points plugin disabled.
Reverted to Standard Joomla Installer (removed Akeeba option).
Attempted install - and got the same error message....
Appreciate your attention - hope we can figure it out!
John

Hi John,
That's strange. It should work if you select the standard installer or at least when the plugin is disabled . I spoke to Nicholas from Akeeba and he confirmed that. I'll get in touch with him again.
Could you send me a superadmin login to your site? pete@freakedout.de
Kind regards,
Pete

If you get this error after installing version 1.7.2 you need to install it again and press the "Install" button during the installation:
"Newsletter component upgrade failed: Table 'xxxxx.n8xiq_joomailermailchimpintegration' doesn't exist SQL=SHOW COLUMNS FROM n8xiq_joomailermailchimpintegration "
This will be fixed in the next version so that this table is created during the upgrade if it doesn't exist.
Kind regards,
Pete
