When a subscriber submits an email address, this message appears "You must specify a merge_vars value for the listSubscribe method" - any help would be appreciated

Hello ksingleton,

Most likely you have a merge var in Mailchimp set to required but it is not selected in the module configuration to be displayed. Therefore MailChimp returns this error message that a required var is missing.

I have this same problem. I noticed that the message,"You must specify a merge_vars value for the listSubscribe method" ONLY appears if the email address entered is alread on the mailing list. How do I resolve this please? I checked MailChimp-no required fields other than the email unless I am looking in the wrong place? I looked under 'List Fields & Merge Tags'. Using Joomla 2.5.28

I am having the exact same issue with the module: You must specify a merge_vars value for the listSubscribe method

When ever I try to subscribe.

I have gone through the setup process adding my API and choosing the list to subscribe to but nothing is working as expected.

Can you let me know what I need to do to correct this issue please.

Please upgrade to version 2.2 (or later if available) and let me know if this problem still appears. I expect it to be solved by this version.
