Hi, I have installed JoomlaMailer and everything seems to be working fine.
I just have one question - in the MailChimp embed form (which I was using before) there was a format option (HTML, text, mobile). Now that I am using JoomlaMailer this has disappeared and its not an option in the module configuration
Is it possible to include this? thanks
joomlamailer version: 1.7.2
Joomla! version: 1.5.23
PHP version:
MySQL version:

Hello mintafrican,
You are right, this option was not available so far in the signup module. I have added the option in the package you can download below. Just install it without uninstalling the old version before. Then open the module configuration and set "Email format" to yes. (If set to no html will be used as default.)
Also, make sure that the users are allowed to select the email format in the MailChimp list settings! Login to mailchimp.com and go to lists. Then go to "Settings" - "list name and defaults" for the list you want to use. Make sure this checkbox is selected: "let your subscribers pick an email format?".

Kind regards,

Thats awesome, thanks!
Now I just have one more question, on the original embed script we were using - it did not automatically updated the users details if they put in an email address which already exists.
Is it still an option not to update details automatically? we would prefer users to have to login in to Joomla to be able to update their personal info, etc!
Possibly just a "no automatic updates" option in the module
Otherwise a fantastic integration!

Hello mintafrican,
I see your point. The problem is that if you're using the signup module the users are not necessarily registered in Joomla. In this case they wouldn't have an option to update their details except waiting for the next newsletter and clicking the preferences link in it (if there is one included). Unfortunately this link can not be generated outside of an actual campaign because it's individual for each user and each campaign.
However, I could add an option to the module to disable updating existing subscribers and show a message like "this email is already signed up. try a different one." Would that be sufficient?
Kind regards,
Pete

I'm having the same problem of the preferred email format option not showing up in the module manager or the website form. Users are allowed to choose. Is that zip file still the answer?
