I would like to change the language for the registration plug in, but I dont' see any entries in the language file for the plugin. Are they hardcoded in a particular file?
This is the language I'm referring to.
thanks Pete.

You should create language overrides in the Joomla admin console. If you edit the language files directly you will lose your changes with every update.
The language keys you want to modify:
PLG_USER_JOOMLAMAILER_RECEIVE_NEWSLETTER
PLG_USER_JOOMLAMAILER_NEWSLETTER_DESC
For the record, the language file you were looking for is this one: /administrator/languages/en-GB/en-GB.plg_user_joomlamailer.ini
Probably you checked the languages folder in the root directory, but plugin language files are stored in /administrator/languages/
Best regards,
Pete

Neither of those keys is visible in the language over-ride area in the backend. I go into the Administrator language and search for the constant for both keys you mentioned and it returns nothing. Bit weird - never had this before. Tried re-installing and the same result.

It's weird that it doesn't show. I just tried it to confirm but it's working for me. What Joomla version are you on and for which language did you try to create the override?
Can you check if this file exists: /administrator/languages/en-GB/en-GB.plg_user_joomlamailer.ini

I'm using 4.4.6 and en_gb language override.
The file exists in that directory. I can change it there for now and it accepts it - obviously will lose during updates.
I did try re-installing the extension and same result.

Also, please delete the overrides cache after installing the joomlamailer component. Maybe you have outdated cache.
