Hi
my client has had a seperate joomla site and mailchimp accaount.
I've integrated the two in a new site, using your component.

My question: can I import all the mailchimp lists directly into joomla and let it create a registered usr account for each person on the list, including sending out registration details tzo those users?

That would be awesome.

If not, can you suggest a workaround?

Thanks in advance

David

Hi David,

Unfortunately it doesn't work like this. I will add it to the list of feature requests, however a few problems come to mind. Users, which signed up to your newsletter have never read and agreed to the terms of service you may have on your website. This could cause legal issues, which we would not feel comfortable exposing our users to. Requires some research...

Best regards,
Pete

Hi Pete

Thanks for your answer.

I understand your concern. In this case - and in many cases - there are no terms and conditions to worry about. They just want to provide their users with access to PDF downloads.

OK - I can export the users from mailchimp as a CSV file and import them into Joomla. I have to do some research, but I think that users can be provided with an automated account and mailed password details.

David
