this error occurs when trying to configure the component; the installation was successful. The API key is correct, was taken from own profile in mailchimp
It is a PHP error related (I have 5.4 version)?
openssl is enabled.

Hi alirot,

What is the last portion of your API key? The -usX part? How many characters does your API key have?

Regards,
Pete

the interesting part is that on localhost the error doesn't appear. so, the problem seems to be at the host provider: what php setting prevents API key to be saved?

Sounds like your server is behind a firewall, which is blocking outgoing connections. Can you check that or ask your host if this is the case? Connections to mailchimp.com must be allowed.

Hi,
I am having the same issue, and I have checked if fopen and curl are on, they are.
If it helps, I just updated to v2.5.3.
Please help.
