Newsletter template won't take/save changes

1. Newsletter extension Edit Templates "save" will not save and it closes the open edit screen. There is a "save and close" button which does the same thing. It's as if there is no difference between "save" and "save and close." Neither saves the changes and both close the edit screen.

2. Template colors are always shown as black and if you click "apply" everything in the template does indeed turn black. We make changes to the colors and apply the changes and they do indeed change but when we test preview a template none of our changes apply. When we go back into the template the template colors are all black again! We have to change them EVERY TIME we open the template yet none of the changes will last after we clearly save them. What's going on? How can we get our templates to save? How do we get the colors we choose to stay?

3. There appears to be place to change the structure of the joomla newsletter extensions template. For example the footer. We want to REMOVE "forward to friend" but we can't. Mailchimp stated, "In taking a look at your most recent campaign, you're currently utilizing the 'import from url' option to set the content for your campaign.  What this means is, your "forward" link is actually included in the code on the website that you're pulling in." How? Where?
