Unable to add users to list

joomlamailer version:1.7.2
Joomla! version:1.7
PHP version:5.29
MySQL version:5.0.92

I had the component installed and working fine but after i installed JoomlaXi profile types something seems to be broken.
On the backend when i try to add a user to the list i receive the following error:

0 users have been added to the list ( 1 Errors: "User is unsubscribed from this list =>myuser@mysite.com" )

in addition if i try to view the users info by clicking on the users name from this screen i receive the additional error:
500 - An error has occurred.
Layout default not found

On the front end i am now getting the following error when logged in:

Unable to load listSubscribe()! Code=232 Msg=There is no record of the email address "myuser@mysite.com" in your account

It appears that the default joomla email is not longer synced with mailchimp.

Please advise how i can go about fixing this.
