Problems with sending first testmails was created by reiniF
joomlamailer version:1.7.2
Joomla! version:1.5.23
PHP version:5.3.6
MySQL version:? 5.5.13
Hi installed the joomlamailer yesterday. Tried to send testmail, got following message: (Der Server antwortete mit einem Fehlercode. Möglicherweise existiert ein Passwortschutz, der den Zugriff verhindert.) (Fehler: from_name - Enter a value less than 100 characters long) So that means, could not send because of a responding server code.
Thanks for help, Reinhard

Solved the problem: The senders name was more then 100 characters long, so it did not work. joomlamailer used the name registered in my webpage and this was the problem

The first Mail worked fine, but the next problem came with integrating the First Name (FNAME) in the content. Trying to send the testmail the reply was like this:
(ERRORr: The HTTP server returned error code "0". Only a 2xx response is acceptable: http://mydomain/administrator/components/com_joomailermailchimpintegration/archive/test_2.html)
When looking in the subscribers list there is no firstname, only a name. But on the mailchimp list there are firstname (in German titled) and familyname (also in German). Can this be a problem for joomlamailer?
Thanks, Reinhard

Hello Reinhard,
As long as the fields are populated in MailChimp they should be replaced properly. Even if not this wouldn't cause the error you received. There must have been a connection problem between your server and the MailChimp server.
If you keep getting this error you can send a superadmin login and ftp credentials to pete@freakedout.de and I'll take a look at it.
Kind regards,
Pete
