Strange error on installing or updating to 1.7 was created by adminbe
Hi Guys

When I attempt to update or install to version 1.7, I get a white screen then on going back to the default backend i.e. administrator/index.php i get a blank screen with : Mail Chimp statistics being displayed. I have to delete the component manually to restore the backend of the site..

joomlamailer version: 1.7
Joomla! version: 1.5.23
PHP version:5.2.13
MySQL version: 5.0.77

Hi adminbe,

That is indeed strange. Can you turn error reporting to maximum and see if it displays any error messages? A white screen means there is a fatal error but the message not displayed due to a low error reporting level.
If you have access to error logs you should find something in there as well.
