New Registration Autorepsonders

Hi, I'm running Joomla 1.5.22 with a fresh download (2/9/11) of the joomailer mail chimp system. I have installed the component and activated the plugin (and set up my mail chimp account).

I'm just using Joomla's core registration system and would like newly registered members to be added to a mail chimp list (creating a series of registration autoresponders). I read here in the forum that I have to activate Joomla's "New User Account Activation" in order for this to work. I'm facing two issues:

1. I like to use the AlphaRegistration process on my site. When I turn this on however, joomailer's "Subscribe to Newsletter" check box doesn't appear in the registration process. Obviously some kind of hack to AlphaRegistration is required. If I could get the required code to add, I can contact them about where to put it.
2. I'm also using AEC on my site which, for a clean user experience, prefers to override the new user account activation process. Are you guys aware of any AEC integration that allows me to get the newly registered site user onto a mail chimp list while overriding the new account activation email?

As I stated my goal is sending newly registered users a series of autoresponders explaining how to use the site. I don't really want to give them the option to opt out of receiving this - since it's information they need (in stages). Preferably, I'd rather be able to do this without using account activation or opt in on registration. And of course I need it to be automated. This seems like a powerful system - surely there must be a way? The real problem I'm facing is I need to hand off the sign up information to the mail chimp list at the point of sign up w/o any requirements.

As a general question, I'm sure many people would find it useful to be able to put the "Subscribe to Newsletter" check box in a default state of checked. Where can I do that?

Thanks, this looks like a great product.

Phew I found away around all this! CorePHP has a plugin that takes of this whole problem. Bless them!
