Won't accept API-key

Won't accept API-key was created by johan
Hi,
I've successfully installed the component, however when I enter the API-key (followed the link "Mailchimp site" and cut'n'paste into the API-key field) and attempt to save it, it always comes back with "The API Key you entered seems to be incorrect!". I even tried generating a new key (first thinking there was actually something wrong with the key itself) but that didn't help either...
I'm using Joomla 1.5.15
Please let me know if there is anything I might be doing wrong...
Thanks,
/Johan/

Hi Johan,
this seems to be a strange issue. Did you make sure that you use the entire API key string? every character and special character?
If that's the case, please create an admin account for us and PM us the access details so that we can have a look directly on-site.

I am having the same problem with the API key, It won´t really let me do anything without it
It does look like a great product.
I am using Joomla version 1.5.20
I wanted to attach a screen shoot, but it wouldn't let me upload it.
Have a great day!

I had a similar issue with another application, it turned out to be related to firewall rules set by my hosting company. By default some hosts block outbound tcp traffic, contact their tech support and see if this may be the case.
If it is, they should open it for you.
Hope this helps

Hey thanks Astrophel,
that's actually something I hadn't even considered yet. Please let us know if that works out for you Johan and Morthen.

Hello,
i had the same problem, and indeed my host (hosting2go.nl) is blocking outbound TCP/IP. They blocked "fopen" and "curl" (allow_url_fopen).
The solution was to let my provider place the api server on their white list. in my case my api ended with us2, so my api server is the us2.api.mailchimp.com
us2.api.mailchimp.com
ping: 74.63.51.85
Thanks.
Roel.
