Autoresponders not working

Im using jomsocial and joomlamailer, when my users sign up for a membership they are added to a list at mailchimp and to that list I have connected autoresponders to start send after 1 day after registration, the users are added to the list but no autoresponders are coming. I tried with the signup form at mailchimp and are added to the list and i am receiving autoresponders but not when using your plugin, I contacted the support at mailchimp and they said it was something with date field at your plugin and that i should ask for support here.

Thanks for confirming the plugin being used. You'll want to reach out to the Joomlamailer support team and ask them how to autopopulate a date field so that autoresponders can trigger.

I'm sorry for the delay. It's been a busy week...

When someone signs up to a MailChimp list they store the signup date automatically. You don't have to populate any date field for the signup date. Please view the details of one of your subscribers in the MailChimp web interface and check if the signup date is set correctly.
Have you created the autoresponder in joomlamailer and set the options to "send 1 day after signup"?
When you go in the MailChimp web interface to "Autoresponders" does it say in the "send settings" column "sends 1 day after signup"? Does it show users when you click on "who'll get this next?"?

Thanks for confirming that. It sounds like everything is working from the joomlamailer side as it should. If the autoresponder shows in the mailchimp interface "send 1 day after signup" it means that it was created correctly. If the user's signup date shows up in mailchimp then also this was set correctly. That's all we might have an influence on from the joomlamailer side. Everything else relies on MailChimp so I'm afraid only they can help you investigate why the autoresponders are not triggered. Please get in touch with their support again and explain the following things:
1.) Autoresponder shows in mailchimp interface "send one day after signup".
2.) User's signup date shows up in mailchimp.
3.) "Who'll get this next" is empty even though you are sure there must be someone showing up.

P.S. One more thing: When you go in mailchimp to autoresponders and click on "preview", does it work?

Thx again Pete, But I first contacted Mailchimp who was looking on it and the told me to contact Joomlamailer.

Yes the preview works fine.
When I add users via mailchimp embedded code it all works fine everybody receives autoresponder but when using joomlamailer plugin for jomsocial it doesnt work.

I understand the problem. I'll look into it and get in touch with the mailchimp support. I'll keep you updated.

Hello Jonas,

After some testing and getting in touch with the MailChimp support I got a not really satisfying answer. Autoresponders do not trigger on the signup date when the subscriber was added via the API. That's how they set up their Autoresponder system and it's unlikely to change. However, there is a possible workaround by creating a hidden date field and populating it with the signup date. We will adapt joomlamailer to this so that such a field field is automatically created and populated when a users is added to the list. Then we can use that alternative signup date field to trigger Autoresponders.
This feature will be available as of version 1.7.3.
