I tried to install the version 1.0 on my site and it installs to the point of asking for either an upgrade or new install. Clicking on either option only presents a white screen, no component. The URL that's presented is mysite.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_joomailermc&view=main . The component does not make it into the component menu either. However the com_joomailerMCsignup does make it to the menu but presents a 404 error. I'm not exactly a rookie here, so if you have a suggestion please let me know.

Hi,

That sounds like an error occurs but the reporting level is to low to display it. Please go to your global configuration and set error reporting to maximum. Then try again to upload the component and post any error messages that appear. This will help us to figure out why it fails.

Kind regards,
Pete

I got the main component to install fine, but I also get the 404 error on com_joomailerMCsignup in Admin. With error reporting set to maximum it still only displays"404 - An error has occurred. Component Not Found".

Note that this 404 page is not the default Joomla 404 page. It's styled differently so I think the component is throwing it. Attached are two screenshots - one of the 404 page and one of the menu item for the Component. It shows simple folder icons so I think something is wrong with the install package.

There was an error in one of the files where the component was called joomailersignup instead joomailermcsignup. Sorry about the inconvenience. Please download the package again, uninstall the signup component and reinstall it from the new package. www.joomailer.com/get-it-now.html

Kind regards,
Pete

OK the component installed properly but unless I'm missing something it isn't creating a menu option in the Components menu, nor does there appear to be anything under the "Newsletter" menu option for it.

Also - that"Newsletter" menu options should really be called "JooMailer" or "JooMailerMC". Newsletter seems awfully generic.

Hi there,

we have removed the non-working view which threw the 404 error. There actually isn't anything to set there. We needed the extra component to process some of the things that the plugin does, but Joomla wants a menu item for the component. All you have to do now is head to the plugin manager, sort by 'system plugin' and configure it. Here you can choose the list you want your new subscribers to be added to.

I will add a bit to the documentation to make this clear for others.

Thank you,

Alexis

Ok, well I guess I lied. The menu item should be gone now. :p

I've tried it again several time and still get the same problem with version 1.0.1. Clicking on either new or upgrade install goes to the same blank screen (even with error reporting set to max.) The DB tables are being created and the files are being installed correctly. I've cleared both the browsers cache and the site cache. It does create the 3 menu options but clicking on any of the 3 result in a blank page. I installed the plug-in and activated it. I've completely removed all of the files from the site, made sure the DB is cleaned with all Joomailer tables, even tried it in a couple of other browsers, tried the normal upload install and even ftp installs. I'm at a loss here. Any other ideas?

edit: forgot to mention even though the files are in place, Joolma does not recognize that it's been installed. You can reinstall it without the traditional "can't install because it's already installed" errors.
